Outdoor & Nature Activities
After a long, cold winter, there’s nothing better than getting to spend time outside soaking up the sunshine with your little ones!
Plant a Garden: Start a small garden, allowing children to plant seeds and learn about the plant life cycle. This can be a great way to introduce new vegetables into your child’s palate!
Nature Walk & Scavenger Hunt: Take a walk to collect flowers, observe clouds, and feel tree bark. You can find scavenger hunts online or create your own that are tailored to your local biomes.
Bird Feeding: Construct simple bird feeders and hang them to watch returning birds.
Explore Rain: On a warm rainy day, have fun running in the rain and exploring puddles. Discuss with your child the different types of bugs you can find after the rain.
Picnic Time: Enjoy a picnic in the park to embrace the warmer weather.
Spring Crafts & Indoor Fun
Spring will always bring some cold and rainy days, so you’ll want to have some indoor plans in your back pocket for when those days are here!
Coffee Filter Flowers: Paint coffee filters with watercolors to create bright, stained-glass window decorations.
Nature Sensory Bin: Create a sensory bin with potting soil, fake bugs, flowers, and containers.
Flowerpot Painting: Paint flowerpots with bright, pastel colors for new plants. You can even incorporate them into your garden!
Egg Carton Critters: Repurpose egg cartons to make caterpillars or bugs.
Flower Petal Collage: Collect fallen petals to create art projects.
Handprint Art: Create spring-themed designs, such as butterflies or bunnies, using handprints!
