Saying Goodbye To Preschool: End of School Craft & Keepsake Ideas

As the school year comes to an end, you and your little ones may be experiencing a lot of emotions that come with the end of preschool. Whether your littles are excited for summer, can’t wait for kindergarten, or are sad that preschool is coming to an end, we have some activity ideas to make the most of this time! In this blog, we’ll give you some craft and keepsake ideas so you and your child can reminisce on preschool and get excited for what’s ahead!

Memory Books & Boxes

Create a scrapbook or memory box with works and crafts your child has done throughout the year. It’s a great opportunity for your child to look back at everything they’ve done in preschool and get excited for what they’ll do in kindergarten.

Summer Bucket List

If your little one is counting down the days until summer or needs something to look forward to with school ending, a summer bucket list is the perfect activity. Help your child write out different things they want to do this summer, like “go swimming” or “eat ice cream”. If you want to make it extra fun, you can write them on slips of paper and put them in a beach bucket, then pull out a slip of paper at random when you need a fun activity to do for the day!

Balloon Pop Countdown

If you’re looking for ways to make the countdown to the end of preschool even more exciting, a balloon pop countdown is a lot of fun! As you’re blowing up the balloons, put a piece of paper with an activity inside it. On each day as your child pops the balloon, there will be a fun activity to celebrate the ned of the school year!

Photo Slideshow

Create a photo slideshow of your child’s favorite memories from preschool! If they are already feeling nervous about moving to kindergarten, this can be a great opportunity to talk to them about how scary preschool seemed when they first started, while showing them all of the fun they ended up having!

Paper Chain Countdown

If your little one can’t wait to finish preschool or start kindergarten, creating a paper chain to count down the days can be a fun visual reminder! Take time each day as they rip a new chain to talk about what they loved about preschool and what they’re excited about for the summer or kindergarten.
