“Spring makes the world a happy place
You see a smile on every face.
Flowers come out and birds arrive,
Oh, isn’t it grand to be alive?” – Anonymous
Spring is such a wonderful time of the year! The flowers being to bloom, the sun shines brightly, and everybody seems to be smiling. After a long winter of cold days, snow, and perpetual darkness, kids love to get out and explore, play, and have fun.
It is also a great time to help your children to learn about the world around them – enjoy the little things in life, especially those given by mother nature. The outdoors provides us with a seemingly unlimited array of activities that we can enjoy with our children while getting fresh air.
From gazing at the stars to making bird feeders, this Spring Bucket List for Preschoolers from our friends at How Wee Learn is the perfect way to enjoy the Spring with your family. Here are just a few ideas to get your fresh air, outdoors juices flowing. For the full list, head over to How Wee Learn. The last tip even includes a link to creating outdoor building blocks from old tree logs or large branches.
- Go star gazing – spring is such a great time to enjoy some constellations and star stories. The days still get dark fairly early, but it is getting a bit warmer, making spring evenings a great time to enjoy the night sky. You can print out these neat constellation cards to bring with you too!
- Have a picnic – spring is an ideal season for picnics because they are generally bug-free! I like having my little ones pack the picnic with me, usually nothing too fancy, and we head out to the backyard to enjoy.
- Bring normal indoor things outside. There is nothing quite like being outside in spring. Enjoying the warmer days, the spring smells, the blossoming flowers all around. In the spring, we like bringing blocks, cars, even the train set outset. It is amazing how differently my little ones play with the same toys when outside. Last year we even made some outdoor blocks.
We hope that you enjoy these simple outdoor Spring activities! Make sure if you complete this bucket list with your little ones that you let us know in the comments below! As always, please feel free to share this with friends and family!
